There are a lot of celebrities who I would like to meet and talk about this and that with. However, the person who comes to mind first is one of the ex-president in South Korea. The name of that person is Roh Muhyeon, who had been the 16th president of Republic of Korea from 2003 to 2008.
Unfortunately, we cannot meet him again any more, because he ended his life by suicide in 2009, the next year after retiring his presidency. I do not know in detail why he had to choose such an extremely tragic death. Regardless of the reasons for his death, I have sincerely liked and respected him not only as a politician but also as a man since I knew him first in 1990s. Whenever I think over his turbulent lifetime, I cannot help remembering his righteous but lonely struggle to protect the weak from every injustice, which had had tremendous effects on many Korean. I would like to introduce to you that he was one of the real forerunners who had understood the value of human rights and social justice in Korean modern political history.
The reason I want to call and meet him, above all, is to dissuade him from committing suicide. If I were to meet him, I would tell him that no matter how righteously he had lived, his last decision was wrong.
His sad death has been an incurable wound yet to the those who feel sorry not to have protected him.
